Delivery
What should I do if my item arrives damaged or with parts missing?
Inspect your delivery when it arrives. If anything is damaged or missing, email support@duramaxbp.com with photos within 48 hours and Duramax will send replacement parts free of charge. See our Returns / Damage / Cancellation policy for details.
How much does delivery cost, and where do you ship?
Duramax Furniture ships free to all 48 continental United States. For Hawaii and Alaska, contact us for a shipping quote. We are unable to ship to Canada at this time.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery is usually within 14 days, and often much faster. Furniture orders ship from warehouses in Montebello, California and Kansas City, Missouri, so transit time depends on which one is closer to you.
Is delivery curbside?
Most Duramax furniture ships by freight, and freight delivery is curbside: the carrier brings your item to the curb or driveway, not inside your home or garage. Lighter pieces under 100 lb usually go by a standard parcel carrier instead, though depending on your location they sometimes ship freight as well. Either way, plan on moving the item the last few feet yourself, and arrange help before your delivery date.
Do combo sets ship together?
Yes. A combo set is only sold when every piece is in stock at the same warehouse, so your set ships as one delivery rather than arriving piecemeal. Free delivery and the same timeline apply. Sets are heavy, so plan where they will be unloaded and have help on hand.
Can I pick up my order from the warehouse?
Yes. Will-call pickup is available from the warehouses in Montebello, California and Kansas City, Missouri. Contact us before placing your order so we can confirm that pickup works for your item and which warehouse has it.
Warranty and Care
What does the Duramax furniture warranty cover?
Duramax garage furniture carries a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. If a piece fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship, Duramax will repair or replace it at no charge, at their discretion. Coverage is limited to repair or replacement of the product.
The warranty does not cover surface damage such as chipping, flaking, scratches, rust or dents, and it is not transferable. It is void if the product was assembled incorrectly, misused, overloaded, altered or damaged in an accident.
The full terms are printed in the assembly manual for your product.
How do I get replacement parts or file a warranty claim?
Duramax handles replacement parts and warranty claims directly. Email support@duramaxbp.com or call 1-888-444-0104, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific. Have your model number ready and, where possible, the part letter from the assembly manual. Parts available include casters, wood tops, drawers, drawer slides, drawer faceplates, wire decks, legs and loose hardware, though availability varies by product.
For a warranty claim, also include your order or invoice number, the date you received the item, a description of the defect, and clear photos. If the problem is with a caster, photograph both the caster and the surrounding frame, because claims are assessed from those images.
Can Duramax furniture be used outdoors?
No. Duramax furniture is designed for indoor use only. Damage caused by outdoor exposure is not a defect in materials or workmanship, and is therefore not covered by the warranty.
The wood tops carry an interior finish, and left in sun and weather they will degrade within a couple of years. A garage or other enclosed space is the intended environment. A covered patio offers more protection than open weather, but any deterioration from outdoor exposure remains the owner's responsibility.
How do I care for the wood and metal on Duramax furniture?
Clean Duramax furniture with a soft cloth. Do not use solvents of any kind, because they damage the finish. Do not use abrasives or harsh chemicals on metal surfaces, because they damage the powder coating.
Product Specifications
How much weight will Duramax furniture hold?
Load capacity varies by product. The rolling workbenches and the worktables hold 330 lb on the top, and the tool chests hold 397 lb, with each of those rated to 998 lb for the unit as a whole. For drawer and shelf ratings, and for any other piece, check the product page or the assembly manual that ships with it.
Take care when moving a loaded unit. Rolling over thresholds, expansion joints or uneven ground can damage the casters, and that damage is not covered under the warranty.
What's the difference between a Duramax worktable and a workbench?
A Duramax worktable is a solid wood top on two X-braced steel side frames with casters, and it has no drawers and no lower shelf. A Duramax workbench adds drawers and a steel wire deck below. A Duramax tool chest adds five drawers and a stronger top.
What is Duramax furniture made of?
The workbenches, worktables, tool chests, cabinets, shelving, and the Darby, Jackson and Weston desks are all built the same way: a 1½" solid wood top with a protective coating on a 10-gauge powder-coated steel frame, with ¾" solid wood drawer fronts. Duramax uses solid acacia for the tops and drawer fronts. The frame joints are welded, and the oversized bolt heads on the legs are decorative rather than structural.
Three pieces are different. The Felix desks use a veneer top on solid wood legs with an aluminum cross bar, the Ramo desk has a pre-laminated top with PVC edging, die-cast aluminum corners and powder-coated aluminum legs, and the Neo folding table is a pre-laminated white MDF top on solid beechwood legs.
None of the Duramax tops carry a food-safe or food-grade certification, so if you are using one as a kitchen island, prepare food on a board.
How tall is each piece?
The workbenches, worktables, tool chests and the 72 In Darby desk are all 37" tall, so their work surfaces sit level with each other. The casters account for 7" of that height, so removing them brings a bench down to roughly 30". The Jackson and Weston desks sit at 31", and the Felix desks, the Ramo desk and the Neo folding table sit at 30". The Industrial Cabinet with wheels and the storage shelving are 72" tall.
What kind of drawers and casters are used?
Duramax drawers run on full-extension ball-bearing slides and include protective liners. Every rolling piece has four casters: all four swivel, and two of them lock. On the worktables and the Rove Mobile Workbench the casters arrive factory-fitted, and on other products you bolt them on during assembly. Apply the brakes on the locking casters while you fit them.
Do the Duramax tool chests lock?
No. The Duramax tool chests and cabinets do not lock. Their drawers use flush-hanging pulls that swing out of the way when not in use, but there is no locking mechanism.
Assembly
How much assembly does Duramax furniture need?
The amount of assembly varies a lot by piece. The Neo folding table needs none. The tool chests arrive fully assembled apart from the top, side handle and four casters, which makes them a two-step job. The worktables are nearly as quick, with a top, two side frames and a beam. The workbenches, desks and shelving arrive as pre-welded frames that you join with beams and a top, which is a longer build. The Industrial Cabinet with wheels and the Jackson desk take the most work, and the Jackson is assembled as four separate sub-units, including drawers built from flat panels.
Plan on at least two adults to move and assemble every piece, whatever its size.
How much assembly does a combo set need?
How much assembly a combo set needs depends on which pieces are in it. Tool chests and worktables are quick. Wall cabinets mount with a screwdriver. Workbenches take longer, and the Industrial Cabinet with wheels is the longest build of the pieces that appear in sets. Check the manual for each piece in your set before you start, because the tools differ between them.

When should I tighten the bolts?
Don't tighten the bolts until the frame is completely assembled. Leave everything finger-tight until all the steps are done, then torque it down. Most alignment problems — crossbars that won't seat, holes that don't line up, legs that won't sit square — come from tightening early and pulling the frame out of square. This applies to the workbenches, worktables, desks and cabinets.
Where should I assemble Duramax furniture?
Assemble any piece with a wood top upside down, with the top laid flat on cardboard. The flattened shipping carton works well for this. Bare concrete will scratch the top.
What if the crossbars won't line up with the holes in the legs?
On the rolling workbenches the crossbars go on in a specific order. Insert all four outer bolts first, thread the crossbar over all four, and only then fit and tighten the nuts. Trying to line the crossbar up against bolts that are already secured will not work. Repeat the same sequence on the opposite side.
More generally, secure the inner nuts and bolts before the outer ones on each step, and don't fully tighten anything until the frame is complete.
Don't mistake the decorative bolt heads on the legs for blocked holes. Those bolt heads are cosmetic, the joints beneath them are welded, and they are not where the crossbar attaches.
If the crossbar still won't align after you follow the sequence above, stop and contact support@duramaxbp.com. Don't drill or grind anything. Duramax will sort it out and replace parts if needed.
How do I close a gap between the frame and the wood top?
On the rolling workbenches, loosen the nuts and bolts holding the top, press down on the frame to close the gap, then retighten. This is easier to do before everything is fully torqued down.
Why are the nuts hard to thread onto the bolts?
On the rolling workbenches this is expected. The bolt heads are finished to match the frame, so the threads pick up powder coat. Run each nut down its bolt with two wrenches before you install it on the frame, and once the threads are cleared everything goes together normally. If a nut binds so badly that it won't run down at all, that is a different problem rather than powder coat. Don't force it — contact support@duramaxbp.com for a replacement.
How do I remove and reinstall a drawer?
Open the drawer fully, pull the slide lock out and push down on it, then pull the drawer straight out. The same process applies to every piece with drawers. To reinstall the drawer, align the tracks with the sliders and push it in, which is easier with two people. If the drawer fronts sit uneven afterward, repeat the process rather than forcing it.
